Implementasi Pembelajaran Musik Ansambel Menggunakan Metode Drill pada Siswa Kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Bulakamba

This study aims to describe in detail the implementation of arts and culture learning, specifically ensemble music, in class IX.D of SMP Negeri 1 Bulakamba, Brebes Regency, during the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Employing a qualitative research design with a descriptive analytical approach, the researcher served as the primary instrument supported by additional tools such as writing materials and a camera. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed through the stages of data collection, data description, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the implementation of ensemble music learning successfully met the learning objectives and was carried out in accordance with the lesson plan (RPP) developed by the teacher. The learning process included the use of videos, demonstrations, individual practice, and group-based ensemble performance. However, several challenges emerged during implementation, including the limited availability of musical instruments brought by students, varying levels of prior musical knowledge, and low student participation due to perceptions of lacking musical talent. These issues occasionally hindered the effectiveness of the learning process. Despite these limitations, the application of the drill method proved beneficial in helping students improve their understanding, technical skills, and confidence in playing ensemble music. The method also encouraged consistent practice and fostered greater student engagement throughout the learning activities.
